BUSHCRAFT STAG WEEKEND – FULL DAY EXPEDITION

10am-4pm. From £85 pp

A full day of bush craft activity (direct from our HQ, just 35 mins from Bath & 30 mins from Bristol) with a hike across the Mendip Hills, learning about wild food along the way, discovering the natural history and archaeology of the Mendip Hills, and collecting wild food and tinder. The Mendips are one of the most ancient and interesting areas of England with the very earliest evidence of our hunter-gatherer ancestors.

You will put up your shelter and learn to make fire without matches. Once the fire is roaring you will make your first brew over a real camp fire.

Your next activity is to learn game preparation & cookery. This might be locally shot rabbit or fresh trout from Blagdon lake (or game sausages if you prefer!), this you will cook for lunch over the camp fire with crusty bread or rolls. Tea/coffee/biscuits included.

Around lunch we have a whittling session where you will make a spoon or other item. If we can tear you away from this fascinating and engaging activity…

Our last activity is a bush bow archery session where you will learn to shoot. This time it’s a target, but you could be shooting wild boar, deer, and so on!

At the end of the day, you can enjoy a well-earned pint at the local pub before heading home, a fully-fledged team of hunter-gatherers!
