about us

Our aim is to provide environmentally sustainable and low impact outdoor experiences which inspire, challenge and motivate people. We deliver the activities personally, with a small team. We use our own venue as well as others nearby. All our activities are based in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

WILD FOOD, BUSHCRAFT & NATURAL HISTORY – ADRIAN BOOTS

Adrian (Ady) Boots is a landscape ecologist with a passionate interest in wild food, nature conservation and the history of the landscape. Adrian has a BSc (Hons) in Geography & Environmental Management, and an MSc, and is an elected Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He has worked as a University researcher & lecturer, as well as a farm conservation adviser.

Adrian continues to research and write, his published work includes papers at conferences of The British Ecological Society, The British Geographical Society, and The International Association for Landscape Ecology (of which he is a member). He writes a popular monthly article for regional magazine, The Mendip Times, on wild food, and has authored a book for the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Service on Wild Walks. Adrian delivers corporate events and team building to clients as diverse as British Gas and Yeo Valley Organic. His events are often described as inspiring.

We have several other instructors, with various specialist areas. Our Lead Bush Craft Instructor, Sean (Silver Fox) Mulhall has worked with us for several years. He has taught all over the UK and in the US and our stag groups really appreciate his enthusiasm and specialist knowledge in outdoor living skills, as well as his sense of fun.

Dave Parke is our MTB instructor, he also leads orienteering and bushcraft activities. Dave offers a confident lead on the more challenging trails the Mendips have to offer, as well as encouraging less experienced bikers to have fun & build their skills. He has a very approachable style and really motivates groups.

All of our instructors are skilled and experienced outdoorsmen (and women!) as well as intelligent and interesting guides. All are qualified in First Aid for Outdoor Pursuits and Food Hygiene and are trained to deliver your event to the highest standard, whilst ensuring you enjoy your activity.
